Finally! A Conference in person!!
From October 4th until October 8th 2021 the Intermetallics 2021 conference took place at Kloster Banz and our group presented their latest results and research activities to international groups of experts. We presented:
Georg Hasemann: High-energy synchrotron X-ray in-situ observations of ternary eutectic growth in a directionally solidified Mo-Si-B alloy
Maximilian Regenberg: A novel alloy development approach – biomedical high-entropy alloys
Janett Schmelzer: Particle strengthening of additively manufactured Me-Si-B (Me = Mo, V) alloys
Rachid Touzani: First principles density functional theory prediction of the crystal structure and the elastic properties of Mo2ZrB2 and Mo2HfB2
We also showed two posters during the poster session:
Maximilian Regenberg: Biocompatibility of pure refractory metals and their combinations as high entropy alloys
Weiguang Yang: Ternary VSS-V3Si-V5SiB2 eutectics in the V-Si-B system
It was a real pleasure to have Dr. Shuntaro Ida, a research from Tohoku University with us, who visited us multiple times before. Thanks to him we had fruitful and inspiring discussions leading to new projects with his group in Japan. For us it was evident, that conferences in person improve the scientific work and also the social connections to each other. Especially the talks in private and the discussions after the presentations stabilized ongoing collaborations, while the socializing events in the evening got us closer together as persons and led to new ideas, projects and collaborations.
We are really looking forward to the Intermetallics 2023!
